GEODYNAMIC SETTINGS AND TYPIFICATION OF LARGE GOLD DEPOSITS WITHIN THE TIAN SHAN (KYRGYZSTAN)

N. T. Pak, E. A. Ivleva

The territory of Kyrgyzstan is composed of the Tian Shan mountain system. The сomplex multi-stage history of the Tian Shan development resulted in the formation of various geodynamic settings of different gold deposits. About 100 gold deposits and a great number of gold occurrences are located on the area of only 200,000 km2. Kyrgyzstan has one giant deposit (Kumtor) and 7 large fields with gold reserves of more than 70 tons. These deposits can be conditionally divided into 3 groups: gold-copper porphyry; to be in paragenesis with intrusions; to be in sedimentary and metamorphic strata.

Key words: geodynamic setting, gold, metasomatite, reserves, forecast.
